Library Board of Directors Special Meeting Minutes
August 4, 2009
Present: Shirley Ernst, Janice Boltseridge, Suzanne Chapman, Paula Enderle
Meeting called to order at 6:40pm
Financial Planning
Discussion centered on handout from Karen Brylle regarding investment policies. Janice is in the process of gathering information from other Libraries and the Connecticut Library Association (CLA) regarding their investment policies.
Included in the discussion were the following topics:
- Separate funds based on designations and amounts.
- Advisory group – formulation and members
- 501©3 status – Nitsa Benson has offered to help with paperwork
- Capital projects
- Long term goals
- Current and future funding sources
Suzanne will report on current investments, their funding source and distribution policy at the next meeting.
Board Concerns
Paula will present ideas for employee evaluation forms at the next meeting.

Suzanne Chapman made a motion to adjourn at 7:45pm, second by Shirley Ernst.
